Essential and preference storage

Essential functionality and preference storage keep this website usable and remember settings such as your reduced-motion preference and analytics choice. Essential functionality is always on; it does not require loading Google Analytics.

The eksteen-analytics-consent-v1 browser-storage entry records only your accepted or rejected choice and its time, for up to 180 days. It is stored separately for each hostname. Removing browser storage resets your choice. Tool answers and prescription values are not stored in this preference.

The functional eksteen-accessibility-v1 entry remembers only textSize (90, 100, 115 or 130 percent), highContrast (true/false) and reducedMotion (true/false). It is separate from analytics consent, works after NO, and is never sent to GA4. Reset accessibility restores 100 percent, standard contrast and the device/default motion preference. A previous eksteen-reduced-motion preference is carried forward when the new entry is absent.

Analytics and third parties

Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-HQF04SN5BT) measures broad page groups and aggregate enquiry, contact, professional-referral, Knowledge Centre and tool interactions after consent. We never send form contents, names, emails, telephone numbers, symptom or clinical answers, prescription values, referral information or free text. Raw URL queries, fragments, clinical page titles and referrers are excluded. Enhanced Measurement is OFF. Google receives technical connection/device information and may use its _ga and _ga_HQF04SN5BT cookies to recognise a browser (normally up to two years); this is not a promise of fully anonymous processing. Advertising storage, advertising personalisation and Google Signals are disabled.

The Directions page loads its Google map only when you choose to load it; analytics consent does not control that separate map choice.

Managing your choices

Choose YES to allow analytics or NO to keep it off. Both choices leave the website usable. Without a selection, analytics remains off. Your choice is remembered for up to 180 days.

Use Cookie settings in the footer at any time. Essential functionality is always on. Set Analytics On or Off and choose Save preferences. Changing the switch alone does not change consent until you save. Closing settings without saving keeps your previous choice.

Saving Off stops future analytics events, clears this site’s GA cookies and reloads the page if the Google tag was already loaded, so its code is unloaded. Withdrawal does not erase information previously sent to Google. Saving On enables analytics only on an approved hostname.
